Manchester United will be hoping to avoid any potential upsets on Friday night when they return from the international break to face Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.
Ralf Rangnick’s side moved into fourth place before the winter break thanks to a last-minute winner against West Ham and the German manager has only lost one game in charge of the club.
However, he may have to accommodate a number of missing players for Friday’s test in the cup competition.
In defence, the Man Utd manager will be without Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof and Alex Telles, so we should see a back line of Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Phil Jones and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in front of Dean Henderson in goals.
In midfield the Old Trafford side are missing Gred and Donny van de Beek recently moved on loan to Everton, so Rangnick is likely to give Nemanja Matic a rare start alongside Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba.
In attack Man Utd has confirmed that Cavani and Jesse Lingard will miss out on Friday night’s clash, while Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to be rested for the tie. As such, a front three of Jadon Sancho, Anthony Elanga and Marcus Rashford are likely to take to the field.
