Liverpool have enjoyed a strong start to the new Premier League season but Jurgen Klopp will be wary of a potential banana skin in the form of Southampton on Saturday.
Although the Anfield side will be strong favourites in front of their own fans, Liverpool will have to contend with some notable injuries if they are to claim all three points.
In defence, Klopp's side are still without the injured Joe Gomez, while Andy Robertson and Joel Matip have only just returned from injury. Despite a temptation to keep Kostas Tsimikas and Ibrahima Konate in the starting XI, Klopp is likely to bring the aforementioned pair back into the fold this weekend.
Liverpool are still having to contend with injuries to Curtis Jones and Naby Keita and James Milner may not yet be match fit, so a midfield trio of Thiago Alcantara, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson is expected for Saturday’s test.
Despite an injury to Roberto Firmino ruling him out of the game, Klopp should be confident that a front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota can get the job done against Southampton.
