Juventus head coach Andrea Pirlo has admitted that winning the Turin derby felt even better as a manager than it ever did as a player.

The 41-year-old coach would be forgiven for letting his emotions get the better of him, after his Juventus side picked up a late 2-1 win over Torino.

Pirlo’s side conceded an opening goal from Nicolas N'Koulou and had a goal ruled out midway through the second half, before late finishes from Weston McKennie and Leonardo Bonucci snatched all three points in the dying moments of the game.

And when asked how he felt about the game, Pirlo confirmed how frustrated he felt on the sidelines but believes he enjoyed the late win even more from his vantage point.

“As a coach it is more tiring but it is a better feeling,” said the Juventus head coach.

“When you enter the field and lose all the duels, it is difficult to have the reins of the game in hand.

“In the first half we were not aggressive and we struggled, we were too static, we couldn't dribble and we didn't occupy the area very little.

“In the second half we changed gears, in our DNA there is also to put a lot of heart and when you close the opponent in the penalty area everything becomes a little easier.”
