PSG reached the final of the Champions League for the first time after comfortably defeating RB Leipzig 3-0 in Lisbon, with Angel Di Maria playing a starring role in his return to the side.

After missing the quarter-final against Atalanta, the Argentine was restored to the starting XI against the German outfit, and caused mayhem from the get-go, initially starting on the wing but drifting into central areas constantly to link up with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

What was Di Maria's overall display like?

📷 Match Snapshot

From the opening whistle, PSG looked dangerous, and it took them just 13 minutes to open the scoring.

A ⏱️ 13' Di Maria was the provider for the opener, as he curled in a delicious free-kick from the left channel which was emphatically headed home by Marquinhos.

PSG instigated a high press on Leipzig and it ultimately proved too much to handle for the defence of the Bundesliga side.

Peter Gulacsi's attempts to play out from the back while attackers closed in ultimately led to the second goal.

⚽ ⏱️ 42' The Leipzig keeper sends a wayward pass into the centre of the half which is picked up quickly by PSG, with the ball subsequently being sent back into the box. Neymar superbly flicks the ball from out of his feet to completely take the defender out of the equation, which allows Di Maria to take one touch and lash a finish into the bottom right corner.

A ⏱️ 56' Eleven minutes into the second period, the Argentine would earn his second assist. After initially seeing a move break down after a lovely pass through to Juan Bernat, the ball comes back out to Di Maria on the left wing again, which allows him to whip a cross to the front post, again for Bernat, who converted with a header at the front post.
