Emiliano Buendia (8.6) produced the standout performance of the Championship weekend as Norwich City remained top of the league after defeating Cardiff 2-0 at Carrow Road.

The little Argentine has been linked with Arsenal of late having caught the eye of Liverpool last season, and he opened the scoring v Cardiff with a sweeping shot from the edge of the area.

And it was his intelligent pass in between the lines that allowed Todd Cantwell (7.5) to smash home the clinching goal and continue Norwich's excellent run of form.

Elsewhere in the Championship goals were at a premium and defences on top. Sheffield Wednesday duo Tom Lees (8.1) and Kieran Westwood (8.1) helped keep Coventry City at bay and guide their side to a much-needed 1-0 win. They are joined by Benjamin Cabango (8.0), who helped Swansea defeat Barnsley, and Harry Soutar (7.8), who kept Blackburn at bay.

Brentford bested Reading whose early season form seems a distant memory, having now lost three of the last four. Bryan Mbuemo (8.4) and Mathias Jensen were their key men, scoring the goals between them as the Bees moved into fourth position.

Jay Fulton (8.0) of Swansea and Tom Trybull (7.7) of Blackburn make up the rest of the midfield. In a bad round for forwards the only standout was Frazier Campbell (8.1), who not only scored a superb goal, lead the line magnificently for him team throughout and gave Watford's defence no end of problems.
