Bayern Munich picked up just their third defeat of the Bundesliga season on Saturday when Eintracht Frankfurt claimed all three points in a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the German champions.

The result means Hansi Flick’s side could finish the weekend just two points above RB Leipzig at the top of the table in the German top flight.

But who were the standout performers and which players let Bayern down on the day?

✔️ GOOD PERFORMANCE

Amin Younes: 7.7

With talisman Andre Silva out injured, Frankfurt desperately needed another attacking player to step up to the plate if they were going to cause Bayern any problems and thankfully they got that in the form of Amin Younes.

Despite only scoring three goals for the season prior to Saturday’s clash with the German champions, Younes took to the match like he was used to steamrolling opposing teams each week. From his central attacking spot the German midfielder jinked in between startled Bayern players and scored a remarkable goal just after 30 minutes when he cut inside and fired a ball past Niklas Sule and into the far corner of Manuel Neuer’s net.

BAD PERFORMANCE

Maxim Choupo-Moting: 5.8

In a match Bayern desperately needed their back-up attacking stars to prove their worth, Maxim Choupo-Moting did very little to suggest he was up to the challenge. Over the course of the game the Cameroonian striker managed just three touches of the ball in the box and just one shot towards goal. Simply not good enough.

STAR MAN

Leroy Sane: 8.1

Bayern Munich had their own injury problems in attack in the form of Thomas Muller and Serge Gnabry both missing the match, which meant Flick’s side needed someone else to prove that they were willing to provide the spark in attack. Surprisingly, that came in the form of Leroy Sane.

The former Manchester City star spent much of the match frustrated by Frankfurt’s attempts to double mark him but in the 53rd minute the German international picked up the ball out wide and dribbled by two defenders to cut the ball back for Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker, with the whole goalmouth in front of him, happily tapped it into the back of the net to cap off a tremendous bit of individual skill from Sane.
