League One and League Two in England have been concluded early after teams voted on Tuesday to end the season prematurely with standings decided on a points-per-game ratio.
Promotions, relegations and play-off positions will be decided via the final points tally, which means Coventry City and Rotherham have been promoted to the Championship, while Wycombe have leapfrogged into the playoff spots at the expense of Peterborough, who will finish in seventh, despite Jonson Clarke-Harris' goals.
Tranmere Rovers, Southend United and Bolton Wanderers have been relegated to League Two.
Several clubs within the league - such as Sunderland, Portsmouth, and Ipswich - were all keen for the season to progress, knowing that any premature end to the campaign on the points they currently had would see them fail to achieve promotion. However, if 51% of the teams within the league voted to finish early, that would be the decision.
Within League Two, Swindon have been promoted as champions with Crewe and Plymouth joining them in the automatic qualification positions.
However, things become a lot more complicated at the bottom end of the table.
Stevenage are currently bottom and will be relegated should the standings be finalised, but just ahead of them in are Macclesfield, who are currently being investigated by the Football League for late payment of players wages and "failing to act with utmost good faith in respect of matters with the EFL and for breaching an order, requirement, direction or instruction of the league".
Should Macclesfield be docked points, Stevenage could survive in the Football League.
Shortly after the vote to end League Two, it was announced that the play-offs would take place at a closed-doors Wembley starting on 18 June, with the final taking place at the same venue on 29 June.
