Europa League team news: How Manchester United could line up against Roma

The Red Devils travel to Rome with a four-goal lead to protect after a rampant second half performance at Old Trafford in the first leg

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is likely to play a full-strength side on Thursday against Roma to ensure progression to the Europa League final in Gdansk.

The 6-2 thrashing of Roma in the first leg last week all but confirmed Man Utd's place but with Sunday's fixture versus Liverpool called off due to fan protests, the United players have had plenty of time to rest.

David De Gea started the first leg, along with the two games against Granada in the quarter-final, so he will remain in net for this game and presumably the final.

Eric Bailly has returned from another injury setback but his minutes could come in a game of lesser importance now that United look to have second place in the Premier League wrapped up.

Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof are expected to start, despite conceding two goals last week.

Had Luke Shaw started on Sunday it may have been a chance for Alex Telles to get some game time, but like Bailly, he may have to wait a bit longer.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka will start as ever, as the only traditional right-back at the club.

Fred and Scott McTominay will probably be the chosen central midfield duo as Solskjaer will likely be pragmatic in the protection of the first-leg lead.

Marcus Rashford would have been the player most benefiting from Sunday's postponement, seemingly carrying an ankle problem for weeks.

Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani were both named on the substitutes bench for the Liverpool game, hinting that their inclusion on Thursday was planned.

Bruno Fernandes produced an excellent second-half display in the home leg and will be hoping to produce similar in the first half this time to earn a rare rest with the tie perhaps wrapped up in the second period.
