A ⏱️ 81’ Mbappe brilliantly beat two players and squared an impressive pass to Mauro Icardi, who duly scored PSG's second goal to put the result beyond doubt. All the work was done by Mbappe.
That excellent piece of play ensured Mbappe ended the night with an assist, though he did not score with Moise Kean and Pablo Sarabia netting the hosts' other strikes.
It was not a quiet night for the young forward, though.
As well as his assist, Mbappe had five shots, with three on target, and seven completed dribbles. All of those were game highs. He also won eight of his 13 duels and completed 90% of his 49 passes, 33 of which were in the final third.
〽️ Mbappe: Rating Week-on-Week
✔️ IMPROVEMENT
That gave Mbappe an impressive FC Rating of 7.7 against Brest.
That is a marked improvement from his 6.0 figure in the Saint-Etienne game, which Pochettino had remarked on being below-par.
It is only the third time he has recorded a rating above 7.5 in his last 11 games, which will provide encouragement to Pochettino that the striker could be set for a run of improved form.
