Karim Benzema led all players in La Liga's weekend action and headlines FootballCritic's Team of the Week in a star-studded attacking line up.

The Frenchman starred for Real Madrid, helping Los Galacticos to a 3-1 win against Eibar as he had a hand in each goal with one for himself to go with two assists.

He was a handful for the entire 90 minutes with a game high three big chances created while he ranked in the top five across both sides for passing accuracy and dribbles.

Real boss Zinedine Zidane waxed lyrical of his striker after the game, admitting Benzema (9.4) is "on a different level" as he sits equal second in the golden boot race with seven goals.

Alongside Benzema up front is Luis Suarez (8.4) after his brace in Atletico Madrid's 3-1 defeat of Elche. The Uruguayan now also has seven goals in La Liga this season.

But the man that has both Suarez and Benzema covered is Gerard Moreno (8.7). Continuing somewhat of a trend over the round, Moreno's Villarreal also won 3-1, with a double from the Spaniard setting the Yellow Submarine on their way to victory over Osasuna.

Also in attacking midfield is Lionel Messi (8.8), the second highest-rated player of the round.

The Argentine scored in Barcelona's 2-2 draw with Valencia and led all players in final third passes (58), dribbles (5) and shots (10).

Celta Vigo’s Brais Mendez (8) completes the attacking midfield trio after his two goals were the only strikes in a 2-0 victory for Vigo over Alavez.

Leading the two holding midfielders is Luka Modric (8.3) who makes our Team of the Week for the second matchday in a row.

The Croatian scored Madrid’s second at Eibar and had the most dribbles in the game with four. He also added 50 passes and six recoveries to what was a dominant midfield performance.

Similarly dominant in midfield was Dani Parejo (7.7) who led all players with 97 passes, compared to the nearest competitor with 82, and an incredible 96% completion rate was the most of any starter.

Parejo’s Villarreal teammate Mario Gaspar (7.9) makes the defence after his four interceptions bettered any other player, as did his six tackles at a 100% success rate.

Bilbao teammates Inigo Martinez (8.1) and Unai Nunez (7.9) round out the defence with the latter scoring a stoppage-time clincher in their dramatic 2-0 win over Huesca. Both were in Athletic’s top three for touches in the game and both played over 65 passes.

Rounding out the team in goals is Valencia’s Jaume Domenech (8.3) after his seven saves against Barca. The Spaniard also thwarted Messi from the penalty spot, but unfortunately could do nothing as the Argentine converted on the rebound.
