Bayern Munich will continue the defence of their Champions League title on Wednesday night when they host Lazio at the Allianz Arena in the second leg of their Last 16 tie.

Hansi Flick’s side already have one foot in the next round thanks to an impressive 4-1 win in Italy, so the German champions may use this opportunity to rest some key players.

With recent injuries to Jerome Boateng and David Alaba, it’s unlikely that Flick will risk either of them for this game and should instead turn to Nicolas Sule and Lucas Hernandez as his two central defenders. On the right we’ll surely see Benjamin Pavard and on the left Alphonso Davies should take up his natural spot in the team. Manuel Neuer will be in goals.

Flick may be limited in the middle of the park due to an injury to Corentin Tolisso but he’ll probably still strive to rest Joshua Kimmich or Leon Goretzka for this tie. We can probably expect Marc Roca to come in for the latter.

Elsewhere, Flick is likely to hand a start to Leroy Sane after an impressive run of form in the team, with Serge Gnabry on the opposite wing. In favour of resting Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski we should see Jamal Musiala and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting given starting roles on the night.
