PSG lacked everything in Bordeaux draw, fumes Tuchel

The Ligue 1 champions continued to misfired domestically as they were held to a 2-2 draw against Bordeaux at Parc des Princes.

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Thomas Tuchel is furious with the attitude his side showed in a 2-2 draw against Bordeaux on Saturday.

A Timothee Pemele own goal on his senior debut gave the guests the lead but two goals in a minute from Neymar and Moise Kean had the hosts in control. In the second half, Bordeaux hit back through Yacine Adli and might even have won the game with several late opportunities.

Although PSG continue to top Ligue 1, Marseille are only four points back with two games in hand.

Tuchel, who watched his side lose 3-2 in Monaco last weekend after being 2-0 up, was once again left unimpressed.

“We lacked everything in the second half: discipline, effort, everything,” he told Canal+.

“It was worse than against Monaco. We lacked effort, discipline, and attitude. Normally I always protect my team but today I totally disagree.

“We didn’t need to lose points like that for a second time. We lost the second half and it’s everyone’s responsibility, mine too.

“We cannot play as we did in the second period.”

PSG offered a much-changed side for the encounter in preparation for a vital Champions League match against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

“We must see another PSG against Manchester, it is not possible to play a match of this level,” the former Dortmund boss said. “I don't understand why we didn’t take responsibility, why we didn’t play more seriously.”

The Parisians survived a major scare in the Champions League last weekend as they edged RB Leipzig 1-0 in a home encounter that they might easily have lost.

On six points from four matches, Tuchel’s side are walking a dangerous tightrope in Europe, and should they stumble against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, it could see them crash out in the group stages in an embarrassing fashion.
