Liverpool welcome West Brom to Anfield on Sunday knowing that a victory will see them open up a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Leicester's draw with Manchester United on Boxing Day has given the Reds a golden chance to strengthen their tag as favourites to retain their title.

They are in excellent form, having not lost in the league for almost three months and having thrashed Crystal Palace 7-0 in their last match eight days ago.

Mohamed Salah came off the bench in that game to score twice and he will return to the starting XI versus West Brom.

Jurgen Klopp is likely to field Salah alongside usual partners Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane as he is wary of the impact that Sam Allardyce could make in his first game in charge of West Brom.

With Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez sidelined for most of the rest of the season, Klopp should retain his same backline from the Palace match. Fabinho is in line to make his 100th Liverpool appearance.

In midfield, James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri are back in contention but are unlikely to start. Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum should be locked in, with Naby Keita or Curtis Jones occupying the other position. However, with Liverpool playing Newcastle in three days' time, don't rule out some more rotation throughout the team.
