The shortlist for the 2020 Golden Boy award has been released, with the likes of Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, and Alphonso Davies among the leading contenders this year.
The Golden Boy award was first introduced in 2003 with its inaugural winner being Rafael van der Vaart who played for Ajax at the time.
Several players who won the award previously went on to become superstars of European football, like Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, Cesc Fabregas, Kylian Mbappe, and Paul Pogba.
The past two awards have been won by Matthijs de Ligt in 2018 and Joao Felix in 2019.

The Premier League is represented this year by Foden, Mason Greenwood, Bukayo Saka, Fabio Silva, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ferran Torres, and Neco Williams.
Silva and Torres, however, are nominated for their exploits with Porto and Valencia respectively, having only moved to Wolves and Manchester City this summer.
The two leading contenders are Dortmund team-mates Sancho and Haaland, who have enjoyed a fabulous 12 months, with the Norwegian starring for RB Salzburg before moving to the Bundesliga.
Sancho remains a £100m target of Manchester United.
One of the breakout performers of 2019/20 was Davies of Bayern, who wowed fans with his pace and power down the left wing. He won the treble with Bayern which consisted of the Bundesliga, the DFB-Pokal, and the Champions League.
La Liga is represented by Ansu Fati of Barcelona and Vincius Junior of Real Madrid.
Seventeen-year-old Eduardo Camavinga makes the list after his excellent breakthrough season with Rennes.
Within Serie A, new Milan signing Sandro Tonali is among the picks alongside Dejan Kulusevski of Juventus.
