After 50 games and 114 goals, the final of Euro 2024 is upon us as Spain and England go head-to-head for glory at Olympiastadion Berlin.

Spain have been the best team in the competition so far and no nation has won the Euros having won every single match on their way to tournament victory.

England, meanwhile, still haven't hit top form but have displayed superb resilience to scrap their way to the final.

Spain current form

La Roja have dispatched every nation they have played so far.

In the semi-final, we witnessed one of the most memorable moments in Euros history as Lamine Yamal became the youngest scorer ever at the Euros or World Cup with a magnificent, curled effort into the top corner.

France actually took the lead in that one, but Yamal and Dani Olmo scored to turn the scoreline around.

In the last 16, they defeated Georgia 4-1 while in the quarter-final they beat hosts Germany 2-1 after extra time.

England current form

England put in their best performance of the tournament in the semi-final versus the Netherlands in which they won 2-1.

Xavi Simons put the Netherlands 1-0 early on but a shocking refereeing decision allowed England back into it after Denzel Dumfries was penalised for a supposed foul on Harry Kane inside the box even though the latter kicked the former. Kane dusted himself off to get up and sweep the penalty home.

Penalties looked inevitable, but Ollie Watkins popped up with a marvellous finish late on to claim the narrow win for England.

Prior to that, they defeated Slovakia and Switzerland in the knockout stage.

Spain vs England Team News

For the entire tournament, England have looked slightly imbalanced due to Kieran Trippier playing at left-back, but Luke Shaw has come off the bench in the last two games so it might be time for the Man Utd man to start in defence.

Watkins did himself no harm in staking a claim for a starting berth after scoring the winner against the Netherlands, but there is no way that Kane will be left on the bench.

Gareth Southgate will probably stick with the team that started the semi-final, with the exception of Shaw possibly replacing Trippier.

For Spain, Luis de la Fuente will be boosted by the respective returns of Dani Carvajal and Robin Le Normand in defence after they were suspended for the France game. Jesus Navas and Nacho Fernandez will likely make way.

One major concern for La Roja is the fitness of Alvaro Morata who, remarkably, was accidentally slid to the floor by a security guard during the semi-final celebrations. He hurt his knee, but the feeling is he'll be fit to feature in the final from the start.

Pedri is out with a knee injury.

Euro 2024 final scoreline prediction

This one will be a tight affair, and even though it seems like England may have their name on the trophy, Spain are excellent and their quality might just shine through in the end.

Spain 2-1 England
