Now that the season is over for most major European nations, the focus will quickly shift to the 2024 European Championships in Germany.

In domestic football, Bayer Leverkusen won their first ever Bundesliga title, while Man City, Real Madrid, Inter and PSG won the league in England, Spain, Italy and France respectively.

Real Madrid won the Champions League, Atalanta won the Europa League, and Olympiacos won the Europa Conference League.

In terms of individual honours, Harry Kane has won the European Golden Boot, which is given to the player who has scored the most goal in an elite league this year.

Players are given points per goal in the standings, with points weighted depending on the competitive nature of the league.

The minutes played are also taken into account.

Harry Kane wins European Golden Boot

Harry Kane has won the Golden Boot, or Golden Shoe, following a tally of 36 goals scored in the 2023/24 Bundesliga. This came in 2908 minutes, while his goals were multiplied by a factor of two in the standings due to the competition.

In 'lesser' leagues, goals are multiplied by a factor of 1.5 and then one lower down.

He gained 200 points in total.

In second is Serhou Guirassy, who scored 28 goals in the German Bundesliga.

Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland are third and fourth after scoring 27 goals.
