Barnsley are getting back on track after a tough start to the season, and Chaplin took advantage of some generous QPR defending to strike a great hat-trick. His first was an excellent run across the near post and slotting home in style, then he burst in at the back post to volley home high into the roof of the net. He completed the treble with a neat finish inside the area and he will be key to Barnsley's attempts to avoid the drop.
For a guy whose recent goal record leaves much to be desired, Rhodes' finishing in the 4-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday was of the highest quality. His first goal was an instinctive slotted finish into the far corner, then he headed home from close range to double the advantage. His third, though, was special, a well-executed overhead kick which showed a player full of confidence. Rhodes only completed eight passes, but scored three goals.
Johnson's ability to get forward and involved in the attack was pivotal to Blackburn's victory at Bristol City. His goal was one of the best of the round, swivelling out to collect a short corner to blast into the roof of the net. The second goal, though, typified his performance, pressing high, winning the ball, and sliding in Adam Armstrong to seal another impressive win for Tony Mowbray's side.
Amos' side may have conceded five goals but he did his level best to give QPR the chance at victory away at Barnsley. After Jordan Hugill's shot had rebounded off the post, Amos reacted quickest to roll home, and he did similar in the second half to slam home a save from the goalkeeper which fell into his path. Amos also won four of his five tackles and made 11 recoveries - his team-mates ultimately let him down.
Ayew is keeping Swansea in the play-off hunt and struck twice to see of a stubborn Middlesbrough team. He rolled home a penalty that he won himself with some perseverance then after Boro had equalised he regained the lead, cutting inside from the right to lash home into the net with his left foot. Boro couldn't handle his direct running and ruthless finishing.
HONOURABLE MENTIONS
Shaun Hutchinson (8.3) produced a staunch display to keep out Derby at Pride Park and record another excellent win for Millwall.
ROUND TO FORGET
Lucas Joao (4.8) only had 20 touches for Reading in their draw at Stoke, but conceded possession 10 times.
