Dijon moved a point clear of the relegation zone after a 3-3 draw at home to Nantes, with on-loan Juventus forward Stephy Mavididi scoring two and assisting another.
His first goal of the game came 15 minutes in after he collected possession with his back to goal inside the box before swivelling sharply to fire a left-footed strike beyond the keeper. The second, which Dijon thought would be the winner in injury time, saw him impressively hold off a few challenges inside the box to slam a strike home to make it 3-2.
In between came his assist, although it isn't totally clear if it was a touch meant himself or indeed for Julio Tavares, who latched on to the loose ball inside the area to smash a shot into the corner.
Mavididi's retention of possession was key in the final third for the home side, as he gave away just four out of 27 attempted passes.
Renato Sanches was the man of the match in Lille's impressive 2-0 away win versus Angers.
It was an all-round impressive midfield performance from the former Bayern man, who had 102 touches and completed 77/85 passes - 18 of which were sent into the final third. He also won five duels, made eight ball recoveries, and won the majority of his tackles.
All his night was missing was a goal, but it eventually came, deservedly so,15 minutes from time when he received the ball to feet in the left-hand side of the box before jinking inside to lash an emphatic finish into the near corner.
Strasbourg moved to within just four points of the top four this weekend after dispatching of Reims 3-0, with Alexander Djiku proving his effectiveness at both ends of the pitch.
The first half was a tight affair with no goals, leading to the feeling that it may take a set-piece or indeed a goal from an unlikely source to break the deadlock. It came five minutes into the second period when Djiku rose high to reach a header from his fellow centre-back Stefan Mitrovic to bravely nod home while challenging the keeper in the air.
That capped off a dominating outing at the back which saw him win 4/5 duels, 3/4 aerial duels, as well as make two ball recoveries, three interceptions, and five clearances.
After two consecutive draws in the league, Bordeaux got back to winning ways after coming back from behind to win 2-1 away at Metz.
Toma Basic was key to the recovery, as it was his strike shortly after the break to equalise. The balls breas to him on the edge of the area and he takes a touch before unconventionally sending a deflected strike into the corner after catching the ball with an awkward scissor kick. Awkward, but effective.
It was his play in deeper areas which led to Bordeaux regaining control of the match, though, as he enjoyed 107 touches and completed 80/90 passes, with 26 of those passes being channeled into the final third.
Marseille and Dimitri Payet's good form continued as they narrowly beat Toulouse 1-0 at the Orange Velodrome.
A few days after his outrageous goal against Saint-Etienne from near enough the goalline, he scored an even better one to win this game, rifling a long-range blockbuster of a strike into the top left corner.
His creativity was the shining light in an otherwise fairly tight encounter, as he completed 54/58 passes, with 29 being sent into the final third which was the second-most of any player in this round of Ligue 1 fixtures.
HONOURABLE MENTION
While Mavididi will rightfully take most of the plaudits for Dijon, Mounir Chouiar (8.1) was excellent, too. He sent 11 crosses into the box which was more than anyone in the league, won a huge 17 duels, and made 11 ball recoveries.
ROUND TO FORGET
Yunis Abdelhamid (4.9) was poor at the back as Reims were easily bettered by Strasbourg. He was involved in 16 duels but worryingly only won three of those, while he failed to even attempt a single tackle.
