The Jurgen Klopp era at Liverpool is over and the Arne Slot era begins this weekend in the Dutchman's first Premier League game in charge versus Ipswich.

The Reds finished in the Champions League positions last season which was a positive end result, all things considered, and they'll be hoping for at least that, if not better under Slot.

Ipswich were sensational in the second half of the Championship season last campaign under Kieran McKenna and deservedly earned promotion from second-place.

Match Preview

Ipswich recent form

Ipswich played three pre-season friendlies, defeating Hoffenheim and Nice but losing to Dusseldorf.

Ipswich injury news

Nathan Broadhead, Harry Clarke and George Hirst are all out for Ipswich.

Liverpool recent form

The Reds were impressive in pre-season and won four out of five games versus Real Betis, Arsenal, Man Utd and Sevilla.

They drew against Las Palmas last week.

Liverpool injury news

Slot has a full squad at his disposal for the game.

Interestingly, Liverpool haven't completed a single transfer in the summer window so far.

Ipswich vs Liverpool - who is the referee and VAR?

Referee: Tim Robinson

Assistants: Timothy Wood, Steve Meredith

Fourth official: Keith Stroud

VAR: Stuart Attwell

Assistant VAR: Harry Lennard.

Ipswich - Player to Watch?

Omari Hutchinson impressed so much on loan at Ipswich last season that the club bought him permanently from Chelsea for a cool £20 million.

A big outlay for a club the size of the Town, so the pressure is on him to hit the ground running in the Premier League.

Liverpool - Player to Watch?

While this may be a transitional season for Liverpool due to the new management, they will still be able to count on the quality and goals of Mohamed Salah.

Ipswich vs Liverpool - Prediction

The atmosphere at Portman Road on Saturday is sure to be electrifying, but Ipswich face a tough task getting something out of this one as Liverpool already appear to be buying into Slot's footballing philosophy.

The Reds could win this 2-0.

Salah had 28 goal contributions last season and remains the most likely player to open the scoring.
