Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel will be desperate to get back to winning ways in the Premier League, after dropping points in their last four games in the English top-flight.
However, to do that, the Stamford Bridge side will have to get the best of a rejuvenated Tottenham Hotspur under the new stewardship of Antonio Conte. And to make matters worse, Tuchel is missing a number of key players.
Although Chelsea have no further injury concerns ahead of Sunday’s game, they are still without Ben Chilwell, Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah and Andreas Christensen through injury or COVID infections. And Edouard Mendy remains on international duty.
As such, Tuchel is likely to stick with a back four of Marcos Alonso, Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta in front of Kepa Arrizabalaga in goals.
The Chelsea manager should be able to turn to his tried and tested midfield pairing of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho in the middle of the pitch. With Mason Mount playing in his preferred No.10 role and Hakim Ziyech in a similarly advanced position.
Up front, Tuchel is likely to stick with Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner in the hope that they’ll be able to use their pace and power to put Tottenham to the sword.
