Over the international break, the biggest news concerning Arsenal involved their club captain, Martin Odegaard, who suffered a nasty ankle injury while playing for Norway.

The prognosis isn't too promising as he could be out until next month which means a number of key games will be missed.

Declan Rice is also out for Arsenal, so Spurs will smell blood.

Match Preview

Tottenham Recent Form

Tottenham haven't enjoyed a particularly positive start to the new campaign as from their opening three games they've accumulated just four points following a draw against Leicester on the opening day, a defeat of Everton and a loss against Newcastle.

The Leicester draw, in particular, will hurt as they completely dominated most of the game before succumbing to an equaliser from Jamie Vardy.

Tottenham Injury News

Big-money signing Dominic Solanke hurt his ankle on the opening matchday and hasn't played since, missing the games against Everton and Newcastle. There is hope that he might be passed fit for this one, but we might see him appear from the bench.

Micky van de Ven should be fit to feature despite missing the international break with the Netherlands squad, though Richarlison will miss a couple of weeks of action after picking up a knock in training.

Yves Bissouma picked up a knock while with Mali, but he should be fine to play.

Rodrigo Bentancur faces a ban for a racism row involving team-mate Heung-min Son, but decision has been made on that one yet by the FA.

Here's how Tottenham lined up against Newcastle.

Arsenal Recent Form

There's no need to panic at this early stage, of course, but Arsenal have already lost ground to Manchester City and Liverpool in the title race following their 1-1 draw against Brighton a fortnight ago.

Prior to that, they won their opening two games of the news season versus Wolves and Aston Villa.

They've scored five goals so far and conceded one.

Arsenal Injury News

As mentioned above, Arsenal will be without their talismanic captain Odegaard due to an ankle sprain, while Declan Rice is also suspended following his dismissal against Brighton. Mikel Arteta will have to field a patched up central midfield for the North London derby.

Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney haven't played this season and will be out for a while longer, but there is hope that Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Jesus could feature.

Calafiori withdrew from the Italy squad before the game against Israel but it was thought to be a precautionary decision.

Last Arsenal Lineup

Here's how Arsenal lined up against Brighton.

Tottenham - Player To Watch

Heung-min Son has performed well for Spurs in every game this season, including the loss versus Newcastle. Against Everton, though, he was excellent and scored two of the four goals. With Solanke not yet fit, he'll again be asked to play as centre-forward.

Arsenal - Player To Watch

Bukayo Saka has had a hand in a goal in every one of Arsenal's games so far. He recorded a goal and an assist on the opening day versus Wolves and then set up goals in the subsequent games versus Aston Villa and Brighton.

Tottenham vs Arsenal - Prediction

Both sides have injury concerns here but Arsenal not having both Odegaard and Rice is a blow that cannot be ignored as the two players are so, so important for Arteta. Spurs couldn't have wished for a better chance to get one over their rivals this season.

Scoreline prediction - Tottenham 2-1 Arsenal

Over 2.5 Goals Scored

- In five of Tottenham's last six home games, there has been over two goals scored.
